Tegatech Authorised Resellers now have a fifth payment option

Tegatech Australia, a leader in the Ultra Mobile PC space, has today signed up to accept payments from IT financier, Moneytech. The distributor will join the likes of Synnex, Dicker Data, Cellnet, iTX and 60 other distributors in accepting reseller payments via Moneytech.
ìOur commitment to Distributing Mobile PC specific hardware in Australia and NZ has brought us to this point. We know that Resellers need more payment options and with Moneytech we feel we can assist.î said Hugo Ortega, CEO of Tegatech. ìWeíre excited about the partnership and feel it adds real value to our resellers.î
In an effort to automate the process Tegatech Australia has integrated Moneytech payment option into the checkout process of their website. The ASUS eeePC is the Worldís most confident Low Cost Mobile PC on the market with a retail price starting at $499 (GST Inclusive) the device is available in a variety of configurations and colours. Price however is no reflection on quality or features; with onboard camera, card reader and Solid State Disk (SSD) storage the eeePC is designed for school, work and play.

Audi and Tegatech Australia release Ultra Mobile Solution
Official launch of S5 Coupe assisted by Samsung Q1
Monday, March 07, 2007 -Australiaís only Tablet PC specific Distributor, Tegatech Australia, is excited to announce an Ultra Mobile PC (UMPC) success story in conjunction with Audi Australia. When approached by Audi to supply a UMPC based solution for capturing leads at the upcoming Melbourne Motorshow it was Tegatechís channel of resellers that proved a real asset. Audi had struggled for years with handling leads generated at events such as the Motorshow. This year they were looking to develop a mobile application to automate and digitize the process. ìWe want to utilize our corporate website to directly capture leads at the show,î said Noel Ryan, CRM and Dealer Marketing Executive, Audi Australia. With that in mind it was up to Tegatech to turn to its pool of 200+ resellers to meet Audiís needs.
The first stage was to recommend the right device. It had to have a proven extended battery life option, and support resistive touch technology to allow the input of data through the use of oneís fingers. Samsung Australia was quick to support the project, and offer the best solution for this particular need, via the Samsung Q1 UMPC. Audi was able to settle on this device but were yet to complete the entire solution. It wasnít until Tegatech turned to its reseller channel and developed the Audi branded Software Keyboard.
The keyboard is built using a combination of the latest Microsoft technologies and agile development practices. Dr. Neil, a Microsoft Regional Director for Australia, in collaboration with Tricky Business a boutique interaction design studio in the UK worked with Tegatech Australia to deliver a custom made keyboard solution that took advantage of both UMPC hardware and Audi Australiaís existing website. Richard ëTrickyí Bassett, CEO of Tricky Business took a hands-on approach personally overseeing the design of the keyboard using the Microsoft Expression Blend toolkit. Microsoft Expression Blend produces XAML, a markup language used by the new Windows Presentation Foundation found in Microsoft .NET 3.0. Dr. Neil was then able to take the keyboard designed in XAML and place it into a functioning application that was developed in parallel. The core of the application sits on the Windows Shell (the desktop) and uses the Win32 APIs, the frame that hosts the keyboard is written using Microsoftís .NET 2.0 Framework and the keyboard user interface is developed using Microsoftís .NET 3.0 Windows Presentation Foundation.
Audi was so pleased with the solution that they allocated the use of the freshly completed solution to the Official Launch of the new Audi S5 Coupe, codenamed Elvis. The Melbourne launch is the World Premier for the car and occurs simultaneously with the Geneva Motorshow in Ginf, Switzerland, albeit with 30 minutes delay, on the 6th of March.
The project has gone so well that Audi is considering use of this technology across its entire dealer base.

Via a newly formed partnership with Vantex Technology Distribution Limited, Tegatech has solidified its position in the Australasian marketplace as the leader in this space. Awarded the role of Exclusive Distributor in NZ Vantex has today reportedly commenced the marketing campaign.
Tegatech Australia had been looking for a worthy partner in New Zealand for over 5 months. When talks opened up between Vantex and Tegatech the synergies were quickly realized and the partnership solidified via a mutually beneficial agreement. Vantex today released an email to its database of over 1,200 resellers regarding the collaboration and the response was instant. Royal District Nursing Service (RDNS), a not-for-profit organisation, is the oldest and most
respected provider of home nursing and healthcare services in Australia, delivering nursing
care to people in their homes, schools and workplaces 24 hours a day 365 days of the year.
As part of the Mobile Computer Device Refresh Program 2006 RDNS recently asked interested parties to attend a Respondentís Briefing; with the Tender having been advertised on the RDNS website, TenderSearch and TenderLink, the turn out was always going to attract attention. The documentation was lengthy and looked as though it had been handled by more than one lawyer before reaching the respondents. An excerpt from the document reads: ìRDNS has 850 mobile tablets and 110 compact notebooks requiring refresh. A desirable consideration of this refresh is to consolidate the tablet and notebook users onto the one device, on the basis that a cost effective tablet/notebook solution is achievable.î
The outgoing fleet of RDNS Tablet PCs is comprised of two models, the HP TC1100 and the TC1000. With HPís decision to discontinue this range it would mean that the TCXXXX hybrid feature, i.e. Convertible Tablet and Slate ability, would prove difficult to replace. However after having read through the ìRequest for Tenderî it would seem that narrowing down the choice might not be so difficult. With mandatory requirements such as PCMCIA, Tablet Operating System, 1.6GHz Processors or above and 512 MB of RAM, it was very evident just how much thought RDNS had put into the tender request.
After some minor technical hiccups, causing one attendee to yell out ìI think you need some new notebooksî, the Melbourne Respondentís Briefing was on its way. Held on Tuesday 4th of July at the RDNS HQ the briefing proved to be a real whoís who of the Tablet space; especially when you consider the refresh would involve the supply of almost 1,000 Tablets. Attendees incorporated the obvious Dell, Fujitsu, HP, IBM, Panasonic and Toshiba, with other hopefuls such as Motion and Tablet KiosK Australia also making their presence felt.
The briefing was designed to further clarify issues documented in the RFT, discussion about deployment and training requirements, tablet transportation issues and an opportunity for respondees to ask questions about the RFT document.. The briefing also outlined outcomes from a recent ìUser Engagement Workshopî (UEW). The UEW identified the key user features and functionality for the replacement tablet with relevant priorities set by the users. The UEW was a follow on from the Mobile Computer System Evaluation Project RDNS conducted in 2005 where staff were surveyed on a range of issues relating to the current mobile computer system. An interesting feature added to the rollout was an in-depth training and support program; the type of training was left fairly open but suggestions seemed to point towards a repository of instructional videos and the use of face-to-face rollouts that empowered the RDNS employees.
No matter what happens the RDNS Tender has sparked a real wave of enthusiasm in the Australian Tablet PC space. Whatever market you are in, if the chance comes to supply a Company over 1,000 Tablet PCs in a single concurrent sale, surely there will be players fighting tooth and nail to make a great impression. With the closing date of the 13th of Julyî now having past respondents must now wait in bated breath. Short listed evaluation units are required for August and the intended rollout is shooting for an October/November 2006 schedule.

The Ultra Mobile PC has started to find a home amongst the Home Valuation space. With the Tablet Kiosk EO UMPC now shipping in Australia it has been Apex MobileTech that has developed, and released screenshots of, Australiaís first UMPC specific software.
Apex MobileTech is the Australian Division of the much larger Apex Software of the United States. With a strategic partnership in place between Tablet Kiosk and Apex Software in the United States it wasnít long before the same presence would be felt in Australia. Aimed at the Home Valuation space the software has been specifically designed to operate lots of small valuation firms at the same time.
An Apex MobileTech representative explains, ìEach valuation firm will have an interface with our web server. They will enter jobs onto the server and allocated each job to a specific valuer. That valuer will have an Ultra Mobile PC that will pickup each job by a web connection using a G3 mobile phone. The job will be completed in the field and sync back to the firm that entered the job, i.e. multiple firms using the same ëgateway to mobilityí. This means they can achieve a complete mobile solution which is normally an expensive complex operation, cheaply and easilyî.

Thank you very much for your pre-order of the eoô v7110. The initial response to eoô has been phenomenal; and as a result, we have sold out our entire initial production quantity.
At TabletKiosk, our primary goal is to provide outstanding products and superior service that ìexceeds our customersí computing expectations.î Guided by this philosophy, we take great effort to ensure that our machines perform exactly as they are promoted.
As the end of April rapidly approaches, we find ourselves in the position of having to balance our commitment to quality with the expectation of a timely product delivery. After the process of quality control was completed on the first eoô production units, it was determined that there was an issue in the tooling of the back panel that affected the operation of the system fan. Because of this problem, the back panel had to undergo a slight redesign and thus the initial shipment is going to be only a fraction of what we had anticipated.
Additionally, we expect the supply of the eoô to be extremely tight for the next 60 to 90 days as the production supply catches up to demand.
If you are one of the lucky few who receives your eoô on time, congratulations and we hope that it meets and exceeds your computing expectations. If not, we want to offer our sincere apologies and let you know that we are working hard to assure that the delay in receiving your order is as minimal as possible.
As of now, we expect to have a majority of the orders fulfilled by the beginning of June. Thank you for explaining your case, now allow me to state mine. (X), a friend and acquaintance, can most definitely purchase an eo from Tegatech Australia, (X), the school he works for, cannot. The main reason for this is that Tegatech Australia cannot offer the support that an VAR could and secondly the School most probably has established relationships with resellers to take care of the supply of hardware to this very school. Tegatech Australia, as a true Distributor, shall look at growing partnerships that support resllers, not detract from them.
Tegatech Australia is the official Distributor of the Tablet Kiosk range of Tablet PC in A/NZ. We are the only Tablet Specialized Distributor in this region and growing rapidly into a Tablet PC resource centre as much as a supply chain. The eo UMPC was announced recently and Australian pricing followed shortly after; as part of our responsibility we let all our current resellers know (A/NZ) and all the contacts on our database. Because UMPC now places Tablet in the Mobile Phone space (as far as pricing is concerned) our margins, and yours, are smaller.
Here are the rules:
- Can anyone at this point in time purchase an eo from us? Yes
- Why? Because the quality of Tablet focused resellers is so poor in Australia that a new product such as UMPC would not get the presence it deserves by passing leads onto local shops or VARís. We have a specialized team of VARís that are knowledgeable, have been through training, and can properly handle these enquiries. This list is expanding daily ñ a very time consuming task on our behalf.
- Have we purposefully hunted down ìeveryday consumerî order? No, all sales currently made are to VARís, Resellers in Verticals, and top level Corporation Infrastructure Management. We are interested in replacing these conversations with established resellers as it suits Tegatech Australia, and more often the Corporation too. Many corporations have already sent their own resellers to contact us for them.
- Can anyone become a reseller? No
- Who is entitled to reseller pricing? Authorised resellers of Tegatech Australia
- Who is entitled to EO Reseller pricing? Authorised Resellers that meet the minimum order qty of 5 or above.
- Has anyone purchasing directly from Tegatech Australia, for orders under 5, been given any form of discount? No, not one!
- What does it take to become authorized? Use the New User link, download the PDF Application and fax it back to 02 9400 6555. Tegatech Australia will review this form and the details therein and allow Authorisation.
- Does everyone get Authorised? No, ìonline onlyî shops do not get authorized. One shop has-been on the condition that they do not advertise any price under RRP.
- Does Tegatech Australia partner with resellers to grow their business opportunities? Yes, we have done so very successfully in the mining sector WA, Governement in Canberra and WA, Universities in QLD and many more. All these entities are being supplied Tegatech Australia Distributed product via partnering Resellers that specialize in these sectors.
I have been a strong advocate of the Distributor, Resellers, Customer chain; we do not tolerate compromise in the supply chain for the sake of any one reseller or consumer. We can supply you with case studies and references to justify this.
If you are interested in perusing the partnership further then I suggest we plan a meeting, online or personal, and discuss your intentions further. As far as purchasing a demo is concerned then I am offering my blog, several videos, and anything that is appropriate to demonstrate the functionality of the eo. While the ìOrigami Projectî was designed to bring down the price of Tablet PC, its subsequent incarnation into UMPC has a slightly different reality. UMPC pricing will be more competitive as generation 2 and 3 come about and as the initial take up becomes more assessable. What youíll find is that eo is the most competitive of the range offered at this point.
My first allocation of stock is almost sold out; I cannot confirm numbers of the second allocation or timeframe. I would be interested in supplying your organization a demo as soon as it is available but cannot see this happening anytime soon. We will have devices at CeBit in Sydney with resellers ñ this is still being finalized.
