Not being satisfied with that response I eventually stumbled across a review that stated that the vpad10 was basically a rebadge of the Tegatech Tega v2. At which point I immediately came to the Tegatech site and forums (btw no Viewsonic forum to be found) where I found out that not only is the SSD upgradable but that Tegatech was more than willing and happy to upgrade my machine to a full Tega v2 and then cover the machine with a new warranty (Viewsonic doesn't use the same software package, include the 3g card/antenaes, or the accesories of the v2)
Yes, the Tega v2 does cost a bit more but it is simply a better package and I can't underscore enough what a difference good support and customer service is worth.

How much warranty comes with the computers? All devices are offered with 12-month manufacturer warranty but in some cases 2yr or 3yrs are included with the item – in these case the product description will reflect this respectively.
Can I purchase additional warranty cover? Absolutely! Tegatech offer 2nd Year (adds 1yr of coverage) and 3rd year (adds 2yrs of coverage) additional warranties for all devices sold. For more information regarding extended warranties follow this link.

How much does freight cost? Freight is calculated based on distance travelled. To make things easy we offer flat rate shipping charges to many areas, however we reserve the right (and need) to vary the freight charge after checkout based on your final destination and volume of goods ordered.
Can I buy directly from Tegatech if I’m not a reseller? You can – no problem! But if you work with your local reseller you’ll likely get a better price and better service.
